Konoshchenok describes himself in communications obtained by authorities as a Colonel in the FSB, Russia’s federal security service and the successor to the KGB, according to prosecutors.

As well as moving the technology, Konoshchenok ‘repeatedly’ attempted to smuggle tens of thousands of rounds of US-made ammunition across the Estonian border into Russia, including sniper rifle rounds and military grade .223 rounds.

Mr Ekweremadu’s brother Diwe, who had medical training, allegedly sent Sonia Ekweremadu advice from the interpreter to show a clear family connection with the donor. 

Ike, a former barrister, is a member of the centre-right Peoples Democratic Party and was the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate for three consecutive terms

‘She covered up for him and added the words as much as possible. The surgeon will discuss with Dr Dupont and they will communicate us. They will continue to work on the boy’s confidence.Ebere and Obinna.’

But, the surgeon agreed with the initial assessment made by Dr Dupont that the donor was unsuitable. Ms Ekweremadu was informed of the decision on March 29.   

Mr Davies told the court the interpreter was also involved in Dr Obeta’s own transplant. 

The jury heard that Dr Obeta, also on trial with the family, had secured a kidney transplant at the Royal Free Hospital in 2021, with a donor purporting to be his cousin. 

Mr Davies told jurors an affidavit was the only evidence of a relation between the two men. 

‘Whatever the truth of any of that, the basis of his transplant process provided a clear model for what Sonia needed in her moment of crisis,’ he told the court. 

Jurors heard that Dr Obeta had trained at medical school with Diwe, who remains in Nigeria and is not on trial.

Australian influencers have been put on notice by the Australian Taxation Office as a crackdown on undeclared luxury gifts gets under way.

The ATO said it will use a sophisticated set of ‘data matching’ technologies to weed-out influencers who are failing to report sponsorships as part of their income which can include handouts and holidays.

A spokesman warned the technology will be used to see if Insta-famous celebrities are owning up to their ‘millionaire’ lifestyles.

‘If you are paid in-kind, such as with goods or other benefits – for example, being able to keep an item or outfit used in a post or being gifted something – you are subject to the same income tax and GST treatment as normal cash or credit payments,’ the ATO told the .

New Zealand is home to ten Great Walks.Out of those ten, the Milford Track is arguably the most iconic. It is the one which evokes images of cascading waterfalls and lush green peaks in your mind's eye. It's a bucket-list multi-day hike for both New Zealanders and intrepid tourists alike.

Situated in the stunning Fiordland National Park, the Milford Track is 53.5 km (33.2 miles) in length and it will take four days to complete.Starting from Glade Wharf, Lake Te Anau and winding its way to Sandfly Point in Milford Sound, you will encounter nature at its best, a cacophony of colour, sound and scenery so potent it will leave you speechless.

1. Choose wisely what time of year to walk the

Fiordland is notorious for its unpredictable weather.Choosing the right time of the year to walk it can save you from some of its extremes. The New Zealand hiking season generally runs from spring through to autumn (October to May). We don't recommend taking it on in winter due to the avalanche and flooding risk.

2.Decide whether to go with a guided group or take it on alone

Another item for your packing list is a decent waterproof jacket. Fiordland is the wettest place in New Zealand, getting 182 rain days a year on average.
